After returning home, he finds peace in the arms of Wisi. Major Halbe and standartenfuhrer Keller spend time hunting together. A decision is made to transfer Władek to Pawiak. The Germans hope to learn something about his contacts, because now, thanks to Karol, they can intercept secret messages. Keller falls over and twists his leg. He is taken to hospital, where Maria takes care of him. Sajkowski meets his PhD student, Mosler. He promises to help the Sajkowski get out of the ghetto.
